The church has a central plan and is richly decorated inside. There are three altars: the main one is made of scagliola (faux marble), a work by Giuseppe Mazzanti, surmounted by a frame that once housed a copy of Guido Reni’s painting of the Archangel; this frame is flanked by pilasters supporting a pediment on which two stucco angels rest. The second altar was surmounted by a painting of the Ascension of Our Lord into Heaven, and the third is topped by a painting of the Holy Family.

The brick façade features two orders of pilasters divided by an imposing cornice and is characterized by four niches containing the statues of St. Gregory, St. Ambrose, St. Augustine, and St. John Chrysostom, works by Giuseppe Mazzanti. The large wooden door and a wide window are found in the center.
